EDQG Member Meetings

Where: Royal Alberta Museum (12845 – 102 Ave., Edmonton)

When: The EDQG meets on the third Wednesday of the month. We do not meet in December, June, July and August. Our year-end banquet is held in June.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. This gives us time to sign up for workshops and events, browse through the Guild Library, purchase tickets for the Mystery and the Library draws as well as chat with friends and view show and tell quilts prior to the meeting.

The meeting starts at 7:30 pm. After a brief business meeting, the Program Committee presents an entertaining and pertinent guest speaker followed by draws for door prizes, mystery and library. We close our meeting with a wonderful array of members’ show and tell quilts. We are finished by 10:00 pm.

Guests are very welcome at our meetings. Please let one of the greeters know that you are a guest and they will direct you to the right spot.

Royal AB Museum Policy Regarding Liquids in the Auditorium

What follows is an excerpt of an email sent to the President outlining the Museum’s policy regarding liquids in the auditorium:

“water is allowed in clear plastic bottles only.. no silver metal cups.. no cloudy colored bottles.. no exceptions... light beverages such as white tea is not allowed..

if the person at the door can't discern that it's actually water by looking at it from a distance... then it's not allowed in.. if the bottle is clear but has a label covering more than 3/4' s of the bottle.. then we err on the side of caution. Remember we're doing this to make sure that your guild doesn't get hit with the cleaning charge.. it can be hundreds of dollars to clean as they will steam clean the entire theatre area if there is a bad enough spill.”
