Results of the "One's Own Treasures" Challenge |
Each year members are challenged to stretch their skills and creativity by trying something new or by applying an existing skill in a new way. This year all of the entries were an original design with the theme of One's Own Treasures. Participants received written feedback from the two judges. The judges are chosen from the Guild members who have had some judging training. This opportunity is provided as professional development for the chosen judges and the roster changes. The Guild deals with the judging of the challenge in a professional way and great care is taken to ensure that the entries are anonymous. Our judges this year were Dawna Dey Harrish and Randall Eckert. The category winners receive a hand made button and bead rosette. These rosettes are coveted and greatly sought after. This year the wild rose beauties were made by Karen Ostachuk. To encourage new entries we had a category for first time entries.
