The Edmonton & District Quilters’ Guild (EDQG) is a non-profit organization that started in 1979 with 35 members that has grown to over 300 members. The objectives of the guild are to: promote the appreciation of fine quilts; sponsor and support quilting activities; encourage quilt making and collecting and contribute to the growth and knowledge of quilting techniques, textiles, patterns, history and quilt makers through educational meetings, travel and fellowship. A Newsletter is published nine times per year and all current members will receive it approximately one week prior to the monthly meeting. It can be accessed on our website. The EDQG is run by volunteers who oversee the operation of the guild. The guild maintains a library of quilt related books and magazines that are available to members. These books have been donated by individuals and publishers or purchased by the guild. The guild participates in a variety of community service projects throughout the year. Guild members who donate a quilt to the charity project will have their names entered into a draw for a prize, to be awarded at the June banquet. |
