Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild (EDQG)

Gateway to Adventure Challenge Winner

CQA Gateway to Adventure logo

The winner of the EDQG Gateway to Adventure Challenge is “Eyes Wide Open” by Kathy Logan de Chavez.  Kathy’s quilt garnered the most votes from guild members in the online survey.
Her artist statement says:  "The greatest gateway to adventure is through imagination. Who hasn’t read a story and been transported to a different world?  I have included quotations about reading and adventure on the books, and an excerpt from an account of a journey to the Amazon in the background.”
Kathy’s quilt will be our guild’s entry in the CQA Member Guild Challenge at Quilt Canada in Edmonton in September 2020.  Kathy was awarded a gift certificate from Joy Quilts in Ardrossan.
Many thanks to all eight participants for taking up the challenge and submitting an entry. We appreciate your enthusiasm and your skill at interpreting the theme and at utilizing time-honoured and new-to-you techniques.
